History
In the early 1990s, Thomas Kramer purchased large portions of South Pointe, the southern tip of South Beach, for $45 million. This area was known for high crime and poverty. The purchase allowed for consolidation of land holdings and zoning changes to permit the construction of tall buildings, transforming the area into a premier residential location. The building was developed by John A. Hinson and the South Pointe Tower Group in 1987. The architectural design was created by Alayo & Denniston International.
